Guilty Pleasures Week

I hate myself for this but it IS Guilty Pleasures week after all.  I had fought and fought against this song for a very long time before I succumbed to its beats.  I remember being at a party back in February or March when this song came on the speakers and I was just so infuriated because it was such a stupid song.  Then all the Orientation training stuff happened and this song kept being played over and over.  All the other senior volunteers started to enjoy this song…and eventually so did I.  I even lamented that copyright laws prevented me from listening to it in Germany.  I only listened to it on Youtube because I didn’t want ANYONE to know that I had this song on my iPod.  Eventually in July and August, I was the one who helped set up a Call Me Maybe lip dub for the senior volunteers as an introduction video to our two days of training.  Now it’s not only part of my iPod but also part of the playlist that I run to.  It grew on me and now I shamelessly love this song.

Anyways, it reminds me lots of volunteering for Orientation (obviously) and all the fun we had making that lip dub, so I suppose that this song has a place in my cold, frozen heart.  She’s also Canadian so she just happens to also fall into my niche of music.
