Dan Mangan - Basket

Dan Mangan was one of the very first few posts that I had done on Soundboard and frankly, I have no problem posting him again.  On Monday, I saw him live for the first time and it was absolutely amazing.  To hear such a pure voice in such a fantastic venue was wonderful.  

Basket comes from the same album as Robots and just has a completely different feel.  Instead of sing-along-y, it’s rather mellow and kind of sombre.  When Mangan sang this on stage, I was just in absolute awe - almost tears.  He stood alone with his guitar and just sang about the end, growing old, and ultimately, death.  I don’t know if just listening to the mp3 will convey the same message and emotion, but I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
