Father John Misty - "Funtimes in Babylon"

Most people know Josh Tillman as the drummer from Fleet Foxes, or maybe Saxon Shore if you’re more of a post-rock fan, but as of this year, he’s now the sole member of Father John Misty. After leaving his post in Fleet Foxes on good terms, he released Fear Fun on May 1st, 2012 to largely positive reviews. Maybe you’ve seen the music video for Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings, which went viral due to Aubrey Plaza's crazy good (almost literally) cameo.

One of the things I like most about J. Tillman’s music is that it’s able to talk about everyday things while still retaining its… folkiness. I don’t think many people could so effortlessly pull off talking about the process of recording an album or being a Dodgers fan while still making me feel like I’m in a cabin on a mountain peak. It just feels really fresh. Hope you enjoy it!

See you next Wednesday!
